Age UK's comprehensive campaign, titled 'No one should have no one,' spanned the entire year and featured several distinct phases. The focal point of this initiative occurred during the Christmas season under the same banner, emphasising the message that nobody should be left without companionship. During this period, Age UK orchestrated an extensive marketing effort, prominently featuring elements like hanging banners, retail posters, templates for brand partners' posters, goblet wraps, as well as engaging social media and web graphics.
Subsequently, the campaign gained momentum with a poignant television advertisement featuring real-life stories of loneliness portrayed by esteemed British actors James Bolam and Miriam Margolyes. Drawing inspiration from these TV spots, a series of web-based advertisements were crafted to further promote the campaign's message about combatting loneliness.
The campaign also witnessed a mid-year surge in activity coinciding with a general election. During this phase, I collaborated closely with the campaigns team to produce essential materials for the 2017 General Election's eleventh-hour preparations. These materials encompassed informative parliamentary briefings, flyers, booklets, and manifestos, all thoughtfully designed to be distributed to Members of Parliament. The overarching goal was to foster support and raise awareness regarding elderly loneliness, aligning harmoniously with the objectives of the Jo Cox Loneliness Commission. Notably, these efforts garnered enthusiastic feedback from department heads, affirming the campaign's positive impact.
