This project involved a private commission centered around the creation of a set of four illustrative portraits, each depicting one of the client's cherished cats. Employing a palette reminiscent of soft and pastel hues, these portraits were accentuated by abstract shapes and floral elements in the backdrop. This approach lent a contemporary and invigorating essence to the artwork.
The intention was for these portraits to be showcased in the client's newly renovated kitchen, where light grey walls provided the backdrop. To ensure the pieces stood out elegantly, I opted for a subdued yet captivating colour scheme, effectively making the portraits visually prominent when displayed on the kitchen wall. By infusing abstract shapes and botanical motifs into the backgrounds, the overall design harmoniously aligned with the kitchen's aesthetic, creating a sense of modernity and freshness.
The client's reaction to the final outcome was one of sheer delight, cementing their satisfaction with the project. Subsequently, I have had the privilege of undertaking additional commissions for this same client, further solidifying our creative partnership.
